Hello,
several of "my" virtual machines run on remote servers with VMWare vSphere environment, hence I am able to access them through VMWare vSphere Client. Recently, I came into trouble when I wanted to debug Windows running on that virtual machines. I would like to connect to the target machine from WinDbg, running on my local computer. However, I seem unable to accomplish it.
Neither of the virtual machines has public IP address. My computer also does not have one. It is possible to connect CD/DVD drives and USB devices, connected to my computer, to the target virtual machine (the vSphere Client reads the device connected to my computer, and sends the data to the remote server). It seems to be imposible to perform the same operation with a serial port or any other kind of devices. I thought that a kind of virtual USB debug cable would do the job, however, It seems that nothing of that sort actually exists.
Did someone of you experienced the same, or similar, problem?
Thanks in advance
