Besides Windows Defender I do not use any "active monitoring" AV software.
I have nearly all the free AV software setup in several virtual machines on my Linux host however, for analyzing malware.

If Windows Defender didn't come pre-installed. I'd use none.

Used to have Kaspersky Internet Security for years (like 6-7), but recently made the switch to Emsisoft Anti-Malware and now Emsisoft Internet Security since I'm a Malware Hunter there and I also test the product. Both (Kaspersky and Emsisoft) products are excellent and I'm satisfied with them. Maybe one day I'll get to test ESET which also looks interesting.

Because they are kind of legalized malware. Why should I use malware on my PC? Why do I need? To protect from another malware? I can do it myself, thanks but no.

Like the malicious software antivirus software by it nature, implementation and purpose is a legalized version of trojans, rootkits and other fun "software" usually called malware or in best scenario - "unwanted applications". They share the same goals, sometimes same devs and serve same purpose - use your PC and suck money from you.
