I am a student taking a reverse engineering class at a university, and I am having issues looking for suitable malware for my term project. We need to pick a sample that is complex enough for a 3 month project to analyse throughout the semester. I have to have a Windows executable file and it cant be over 8 years old.
I have found some samples online but I am just having issues with choosing one that's within reasonable difficulty to analyse but not too easy to finish quickly. Are there any tips as to what I should look for when searching for sample? Thanks for any help.
